The 40-hour SB 472 English Learner Professional Development (ELPD) Institute is designed for teachers who have completed the 40-hour initial SB 472 training. The training supports effective implementation of the English Language Development component of the State Board adopted and certified supplementary materials. Download training flyer.
Participants will learn how to:
- Use curriculum frameworks to differentiate instruction through universal access;
- Measure and analyze the achievement of ELs, and how to use this information to improve pupil performance;
- Plan and teach ELD for students at each level of proficiency;
- Develop oral language, vocabulary and writing skills; and
- Implement effective comprehension and instructional strategies.
Fee: $750 - $1,000 per person, depending on individual district needs. Participants may
register online. State reimbursement information.
Participants
Teachers who have already completed the initial 40-hour SB 472 40 hour training for English Language Arts or Mathematics.
