The 40-hour SB 472 English Learner Professional Development (ELPD) Institute is designed for teachers who have completed the 40-hour initial SB 472 training. The training supports effective implementation of the English Language Development component of the State Board adopted and certified supplementary materials.
Participants will learn how to:
- Use curriculum frameworks to differentiate instruction through universal access;
- Measure and analyze the achievement of ELs, and how to use this information to improve pupil performance;
- Plan and teach ELD for students at each level of proficiency;
- Develop oral language, vocabulary and writing skills; and
- Implement effective comprehension and instructional strategies.
Fee: $750 - $1,000 per person, depending on individual district needs. Participants may
register online. State reimbursement information.
Participants
Teachers who have already completed the initial 40-hour SB 472 40 hour training for English Language Arts or Mathematics.
